Connecting Multiple Controllers

The first question is can it be done? LEGOŽ offer no advice one way or the other in their instruction manuals, but the simple answer is yes - provided you are careful. LEGOŽ has designed the controllers so they are pretty robust and, even though I wouldn't recommend trying it, the controllers will survive being shorted together. So if you accidently route the power from two controllers to the same stretch of track and they are set in opposite directions it probably doesn't matter.

If you have #4563 Euro Freight Line and #4564 Freight Express you will already have two controllers and two loops of track. What you'll want to do next is get some extra track and some points so that you can have two interconnected loops. Then you can run both trains on one layout.

An example of using two controllers is shown in Double Loop. One controller powers the outer loop and one powers the inner loop. When both are running you must have both the points set for the loops (not for the crossover). If you want to run a train from one loop to the other turn off one controller and change both points.
