The largest 9V passenger train to date, a double-ended passenger express with a locomotive, a coach and a steering car. Done out in 'Amtrak' red, white and blue stripes. The locomotive end has working lights (provided the train is moving).
Working from the front, the train has a cabin, an engine room, a restaurant, a washroom, a passenger compartment, a sleeping compartment, a mail room and a rear cabin.
Includes 8 passengers, a train driver, a railway worker and a bartender. Also includes two parcels, 7 pieces of luggage, a luggage trolley, two bicycles and a platform.
The alternate model instructions are for another passenger train. This has a double ended electric locomotive, a passenger coach and a freight wagon.
The Metroliner was re-released in 2001 under the LEGO Legends line as set #10001. The set is basicly the exact same set as the orginal 4558, but comes in a black and white box
